To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

Justification
I chose To All the Boys I've Loved Before because several of my students have asked if I have read it, and I had not due to a stubborn refusal to like Romance, whether it is adult or YA.
Response
(a) Laura Jean reminded me so much of myself when I was in high school--awkward, shy, very family-oriented. As a teenager and an adult, I have done similar things to her letters, writing all my feelings down to purge them, which really helped, as I took someone not liking me back very personally all the way into college.
(g) I really enjoyed To All the Boys I've Loved Before. I already have the second book ready and waiting to read when summer begins. I'm glad I can now recommend it to my students and know it's a sweet, funny story that feels real.
Conclusion
Conclusion
I'm honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed reading To All The Boys I've Loved Before. I'd purchased the book for my classroom library with no intention of actually reading it (which is a lie, I just put it off because I'm not a fan of watching awkward teen romances, and Laura Jean seems incredibly awkward in the trailer, and once I read the book, I have to watch the show).
Genre: Romance
